One Muni is a place for people who love spaces of beauty, care, and intention.

If you’re looking for a place to host a gathering, offer or receive healing, feel at home, discover what you love, or share what you create—you are welcome here.

MEET THE FOUNDERS
JR

JR grew up right here in Middletown, in public housing. Basketball was the door. He played at Middletown High School and Central Connecticut State University before earning a Master’s in Sports Management from Georgetown.

He’ll tell you his real education came from the decades spent alongside athletes—as a teammate, then a mentor—developing discipline, deepening relationships, and navigating challenges in pursuit of shared goals.

Those experiences shaped a simple belief: opportunity should be passed on. JR has built ventures across the U.S. and Asia, helping students and athletes develop their skills, pursue their passions, and access some of the world’s top schools.

With One Muni, he returns to where it all started—focused on building community, activating dreams, and creating space for the people and things we love.

FARANEH

Faraneh is a Wesleyan graduate who found the love of her life—and so much more—in Middletown. From Jamaica to Maine, Côte d’Ivoire to Main Street, she is a world traveler, people-connector, and the founder of be joy seek joy, a series of gatherings (2016–2024) where women from beautifully diverse backgrounds came together to learn, share, and grow.

After years working in development at Wesleyan, she followed her calling into chiropractic care. For the past decade, she has been fortunate to practice in a collaborative setting—sharing space, staff, and a commitment to wellness for all, especially mothers, babies, and children. In that kind of environment, she thrived.

With One Muni, she now creates spaces where others can experience that same sense of support, connection, and possibility.
